Police Privatization

To,
The Home Minister, Govt. of India

Date:-29 November 2012

Subject:-Blot on good governance, humanity, social and moral rights

Sir,
The more we condemn the police the further we kill the humanity, morality and legality. This is the order of the day. Our good governance is being criticized day to day solely due to error and lapses in the police action. No doubt we can’t rule out the relevance of the police in our society but it appears that the lapses by police are deliberate for the survival of their profession and partly due to compulsion of the system. Our government also depends largely on the police to protect the system and themselves. The best way to get rid of this evil is to establish parallel policing. This can be done through privatization of some branches of police viz investigation, custodial and registration of complaints.

There is also revolt in the police department which panics and blackmails the government for certain irrelevant grievances. The privatization would not hamper the police, rather it would generate accountability and competition among the police. As a matter of fact, the police themselves are victims of police dictatorship. Although there is mechanism to check the free-willing of the police, it creates a lot of physical and mental exertion, social humiliation and financial waste.

I, therefore, appeal you to constitute a panel of experts to study the feasibility of the privatization of police.
